It’s a pleasure to be associated with the up-coming Bridport Folk Festival; a new venture in the ever-buzzing town which already has an international Literary prize, renowned Hat Festival, Book to Screen Film Festival and annual Carnival.
Now, a first-in-the-modern-era Folk festival (there having been some-such in the distant past). The small action committee has been working away since November to lay the foundations and now the programme is coming together.
Expect Concerts, Ceildh and Dance, Workshops (music/song/dance), Pub Sessions, Street entertainment and the whole lively scene that Bridport does so well, over the weekend of 11th/12th/13th August.
There have been and will be fundraising events frequently in Bucky-Do Square and two evening support concerts are arranged:
Meanwhile, we at Bridport Ceilidhs are helping with the organisation of the Saturday Night Ceilidh – featuring “No Strings Attached”:
– and also in develpong the Saturday and Sunday Dance Workshops programme.
